Conservation Management Plan

As part of its application to the Heritage Lottery Fund, which secured the funding for the restoration of the main pool and its surrounding areas, Sandford Parks Lido stated that it will commission and sign up to a Conservation Management Plan, which will help us identify and protect the important aspects of this wonderful site for the future. The author of this document is Jeremy Lake, who has over 25 years of experience in historic buildings and conservation, and has worked for English Heritage since 1988. It includes detailed policies and guidance for the maintenance and enhancement of this nationally important site. It also brings together the results of new research into the history of the lido and its place in the development of open-air swimming pools, recreation and designed landscapes.

Volunteering and Fundraising Initiatives

If you have some spare time why not become one of our volunteers, we need help with general duties to get the lido ready to open every year or with specialist events such as Turning Back Time or our annual sporting events:

The Cheltenham Triathlon raising funds for the lido and LINC; our children's aquathlon raising funds for The Pied Piper Appeal and the lido and The Devil's Aquathlon raising funds for Macmillan and the lido. The GE Aviation Aquathlon raises funds solely for the lido.  We also require more specialist skills such as assisting with Heritage Talks and Tours.
