Sandford Parks Lido Events

Every year we run a number of special events on site, here is the list for 2013.

 

  • Turning Back Time - opening day
    Saturday 4th May 2013
    Our annual opening day celebration with entrance price of 2p and staff in traditional uniform. Activities available for all the family with your first chance of the year to have a swim
  • Cheltenham Spa Sportive
    Sunday 12th May 2013
    "A cyclosportive, or often simply sportive, is a short to long distance, organised, mass-participation cycling event"2 stunning cycle rides starting at Sandford Parks Lido in the regency spa town of Cheltenham and heading north through Gloucestershire & Worcestershire to circuit Bredon Hill and then either return to the Lido via the foot slopes of the Cotswolds for the 64m Challenge ride or for the longer 88m Epic route head in to the western villages and lanes of the stunning CotswoldsThere will also be a 25 mile "Lido Ride" where all proceeds from entry (£10 per rider) and any sponsorship raised by the riders will go direct to ensuring Sandford Parks Lido ( Registered Charity No 1052203) remains open for the benefit of the local community.To participate in this event and view a map of the routes please click here to visit the velosportive

    There will be Biathle training followed by the Gloucestershire Open Biathle County Championships 2013 at Sandford Parks Lido on Sunday 30th June, 2013. The day is open to all athletes (and parents are welcome) who are interested in Biathle

  • Season Ticket Holders Swim & Social

    Evening swim and social event for Season Ticket Holders. This evening is free but tickets must be obtained from the lido reception prior to the evening
  • Around the World in 80 Days

  • Heritage Open Day
    Saturday 14th September 2013
    Sandford Parks Lido opens as part of the Heritage Open Days weekend.Open between 11am-7
  • The Devil's Aquathlon
    Sunday 6th October 2013
    The Devil's Aquathlon is a tough swimming and running challenge which raises funds for two charities and is designed for competitors aged 17 and above who enjoy a personal or team challenge. The event starts with a 2km swim in the lidos 50m main pool
  • Christmas Day Swim
    Wednesday 25th December 2013
    We look forward to welcoming you to Sandford Parks Lido on Wednesday 25th December for a quick dip in the main pool before heading home to warm up and have your Christmas dinner.The swim will take place promptly at 11am and you will need to be at the lido gates from 10

Volunteering and Fundraising Initiatives

If you have some spare time why not become one of our volunteers, we need help with general duties to get the lido ready to open every year or with specialist events such as Turning Back Time or our annual sporting events:

The Cheltenham Triathlon raising funds for the lido and LINC; our children's aquathlon raising funds for The Pied Piper Appeal and the lido and The Devil's Aquathlon raising funds for Macmillan and the lido. The GE Aviation Aquathlon raises funds solely for the lido.  We also require more specialist skills such as assisting with Heritage Talks and Tours.
